University of Ibadan, has advice 408 students of the institution to Drop due to their inability to meet up with the Academic requirements and poor academic performance
This is to inform the public that the Senate of UI has asked students who are finding difficult to cope with their academics and failing to meet the minimum academic requirements. to withdraw, the total number of about 408 has been ask to withdraw from the institution due to poor performance academically,
The decision to withdraw the students was taken at the UI Senate’s meeting where results of graduating and non-graduating students were considered and approved.
The Senate said that most of the affected students were admitted during 2016/2017 academic session, when there was opposition to the screening exercise thereby the students did not pass through the screening Exercise and were admitted freely.
The Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Adeyinka Aderinto said; “There are minimum academic requirements a student must meet at the end of the session and those who fall short of that would have to leave the university.

Prof. Adeyinka further revealed that the conduct of University of Ibadan Model of Post-UTME screening has helped to separate men from boys and helped the institution in maintaining its historical standards as a global brand.
Adeyinka said that University of Ibadan has been able to invent its own model of screening applicants and it has shown that those who were screened performed far better than those not subjected to our screening after taking JAMB.
So all those wishing to go to University of Ibadan should sit up and study the post UTME past question so as to perform well and avoid been dropped after some years of toiling in the institution.
