This is to inform all students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) that the school management has published the approved academic calendar for the 2017/2018 academic session, first and second semester
1ST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR
- 7th January 2018 – New Students come into residence for 2017/2018 academic session.
- 8th January 2018 – Clearance begins for new students.
- 14th January 2018 – Old students come into residence.
- 15th January 2018 – Lectures begin for all students for first semester of 2017/2018 Academic Session.
- 16th February 2018 – Deadline for registration and payment of school charges/fees for 2017/2018 – Academic session.
- 3rd March 2018 – Matriculation (8 weeks after resumption).
- 6th April 2018 – End of 1 semester lectures for 2017/2018 Academic Session (14 weeks).
- 9th April 2018 To 13th April 2018 – Revision (one week).
- 16th April 2018 – Examinations begin in Faculties of Education/Pharmacy/Engineering/Life Sciences/Physical Sciences/Environmental Sciences.
- 20th April 2018 – CED Examination.
- 23rd April 2018 To 20th April 2018 – Other Faculties Examinations begin (two weeks)
- 7th July 2018 To 11th July 2018 – GST Exams (CBT).
- 14th July 2018 To 25th July 2018 – Students go down for first semester break (Two weeks break)
2ND SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR
- 27th July 2018 – Students come into residence for second semester.
- 28th July 2018 – Lectures begin for second semester.
- 17th August 2018 – Second semester lectures end.
- 20th August 2018 To 24th August 2018 – Revision (one week)
- 27/08/2018 – Examinations begin in Faculties of Education/Pharmacy/Engineering/Life Sciences/Physical Sciences/Environmental Sciences.
- 31st August 2018 – CED Examinations.
- 3rd September 2018 To 14th September 2018 – Other Faculties Examinations (two weeks.)
- 17th September 2018 To 21st September 2018 – General Studies Examinations.
- 22nd September 2018 – Students go down (end of 2017/2018 academic session).
- 24th September 2018 To 5th October2018 – Schools/Faculties/Institutes/Departments/Board of Studies meet to consider 2017/2018 sectional results. .
- 8th October 2018 To 28th October 2018 – Business Committee meets to consider results for lower level for 2017/2018 academic session.
- 15th October 2018 To 19th October 2018 – Senate meets to consider Sessional Results for higher levels for 2017/2018 academic session.
- 18th November 2018 – New students come into residence for 2018/2019 academic session.
- 2nd December 2018 – Old students come into residence for 2018/2019 academic session.
- 3rd December 2018 – Lectures begin for 1 Semester of 2018/2019 academic session.
